A Doula, Audie
Hi there! I'm Audrey, but you can call me Audie. Ever since I can remember, I have been drawn to the journey of motherhood. Any woman with a pregnant belly was always a goddess in my eyes and I worshipped her. In high school, I became a nanny and started working with families full-time. As an enthusiastic 18 year-old wanting to learn more about women's health care, I signed up to shadow an OBGYN the summer before going to college to pursue a nursing degree.
One year into the program, I began to question the clinical approach to birth that viewed women as fragile, weak, and unable to make their own medical decisions. I was exposed to the flawed model of our Western medical system, and even more to the disparities of BIPOC in the hospital setting. I decided to break free in pursuit of the truth behind physiological birth and patient autonomy.
This is where my work as a doula began. I have come alongside families and documented their biggest milestones with just a camera, but I knew my hands were meant for more. As soon as I attended my first training, I knew I was in the right place. I became a Certified Birth Doula with DONA International in 2023, and began to inherit the ancient wisdom that lies within birth.
I believe in your body's natural ability to bring your baby into the world, and being able to witness this miracle is my biggest honor. As I join you in navigating this wild, unpredictable process, I hope to empower you to have the experience you desire.

My Philosophy
Birth is not an emergency
It is a normal bodily function that women have been carrying out for centuries. It is not to be rushed or altered. The more we intervene, the more problems we cause.
your body, your birth
Birth belongs to the mother, no one else. That means nothing happens to her that she hasn't been informed of and consented to.
PROTECT YOUR PEACE
The birth space is sacred ground. The energy we allow in should be free of fear, doubt, and chaos. Birth unfolds best when undisturbed.
